Camden Stables Market · four eras · walk ins welcome

King for
a day.Queen too.

Fifteen minutes of being somebody else, with the people you came with, and something on paper to prove it happened. You have not done Camden until you have done this.

£25 a head costume, props, the set, a photographer who directs you, one print and one digital file. That is the whole price.

Pick your century

Four wardrobes. One afternoon.

Real costume, real props, a built set and somebody behind the camera telling you where to put your chin. The part your phone cannot do.

Customers photographed in Victorian costume

Victorian

Top hats, bustles, parasols and a very serious expression. The most asked for, and the best for Christmas cards.

Customers photographed in Tudor costume

Tudor

Velvet, ruffs and a crown that actually sits properly. If you are going to be royalty, be royalty.

Customers photographed in Wild West costume

Wild West

Sheriff, outlaw or saloon owner. Hats, holsters and a backdrop that has seen some trouble.

Customers photographed in Gangster costume

Gangster

Pinstripes, fedoras, feather boas and cigarette holders. The one hen parties go for, every time.

How a sitting works

In off the street, out with a photograph.

1

Pick your era

Walk in or book ahead. You choose the century, we find the sizes. Everything on the rail is included.

2

Get dressed

Our team dresses you properly, hats, collars, props and all. Changing rooms on site. About ten minutes.

3

The sitting

Around seventy shots on the set, directed by the photographer. This is the bit everybody remembers.

4

Choose at your leisure

Pick your favourite on the big screen and take the print home the same day. We email the whole gallery that evening so you can choose the rest on your sofa, not at our counter.

Gangster era, every time. An hour of the studio to yourselves before anyone reaches a bar.

Birthdays

Children in Tudor crowns, adults pretending they are not enjoying it. Both work.

Proposals

Tell us quietly when you book. We will put the camera where it needs to be.

Christmas cards

Victorian portraits, shot in November and December, printed and in your hand the same day.

Families

Grandparents to toddlers. Some of our regulars have come back every year for a decade.

From the studio
